The Best Menswear in Wales
The awards shelf at Dyfed Menswear is starting to run out of space!
Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to win a number of wedding industry awards.
On Sunday the 4th of November, 2018, we were proud to receive yet another nomination in the Best Menswear category for the Welsh National Wedding Awards.
Here’s what happened…
What is the Welsh National Wedding Awards?
The Welsh National Wedding Awards formally recognises the tireless work, undeniable passion and complete commitment of businesses in the wedding industry.
It shines a spotlight on the people and companies that ensure happy couples across Wales have a perfect day.
Covering five regions across Wales; East, South Central, West, Mid and North, it covers every conceivable category of wedding company, from photographers and venues to cake-makers, jewellers, florists and more. Including a menswear category.
As well as regional winners being chosen, companies also receive the accolade of being awarded the title of Best in Wales for each category.
The best thing about the awards is that it allows couples and their families to say the ultimate thank-you and vote for the wedding company that helped make their day extra special.
Each company is scored based on value for money, customer service and product quality.
Once this information is collected together, shortlists are compiled and a panel of judges choose the winners based on the feedback from their customers.
Where and when?
Every year the awards ceremony gets bigger and better, with 2018 proving to be just as impressive.
On Sunday, November 4th, the great and the good of the wedding industry settled down at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea for an evening of fun and frolics.
This year’s event was themed around the Greatest Showman, with live music, entertainment and even a few bearded ladies!
Multi-award-winning menswear
We’ve got something of a history when it comes to the Welsh National Wedding Awards.
The team at Dyfed Menswear have been lucky enough to win the Best Menswear in Wales Award 7 years running, from 2011 to 2017.
With our stores in East and West Wales, we’ve also repeatedly won the best menswear awards for these regions.
With some healthy competition for the regional and national titles, we certainly hoped that we’d be coming home with some awards in 2018 but we weren’t taking anything for granted.
We’re delighted to say that we not only took home the awards for Best Menswear in East and West Wales but also the prestigious title of Best Menswear in Wales, making us the title holders for eight year running.
As you can imagine, we were delighted with the result and it’s all thanks to the votes of the grooms and wedding guests who came to have their wedding suits fitted with us.
A fitting tribute
On the night, we took the opportunity to pay tribute to a much-loved colleague from our Cardiff store, John Morgan.
Unfortunately, John passed away weeks before the event and we wanted to remember the huge contribution that he had made to the business.
2019 and beyond
With our new-look website and an understanding of the wedding trends that we can expect to see in 2019, we are looking forward to a busy year between now and the next Welsh National Wedding Awards.
